Required Vaccines
Western requires proof of Measles vaccination or immunity to attend classes and/or live in housing. Make sure you meet this requirement as soon as possible to avoid delay in your registration process!
The process is quick and easy! Simply follow these important steps:
- Go to your MyWesternHealth patient portal.
- Log in with your WWU email and password.
- Click “Medical Clearances” in the menu column on the left.
- Locate “Measles” and click the green “Update” button.
- Carefully follow the simple two-step instructions at the top of the screen.
If you were immunized in Washington State you can quickly access and download your immunization records through MyIR.
As of June 12, 2023 proof of COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required at WWU.
You’re headed to Western and becoming a part of a new community, which includes exposure to vaccine-preventable diseases. On campuses around the country, preventable diseases like influenza are known to spread quickly, through constant exposure in close quarters like dorms, classrooms, shared restrooms, and through social activities.
Vaccines offer safe and effective protection for the individual student, all students, academic professionals, and the other professionals on campus you will interact with every day. Check and make sure you are current on the recommended vaccines that keep you healthy and in the classroom. Be proactive—get vaccinated!
