Measles Requirement

Measles Immunization Requirement

Western Washington University recognizes that measles is a very contagious respiratory disease that can pose significant health risks to members of our campus community.  To ensure the health and safety of all students at Western, proof of measles (rubeola) immunity is required.

Students who have not provided proof of measles immunity to the Student Health Center will have a hold placed on their student account and will not be able to register for classes.  A hold placed on the student account also prevents a student from living in on-campus housing.

We will remove the hold on your account once we receive and process your documents.

Make sure you meet this requirement as soon as possible to avoid delay in your registration process!

Proof of Measles Immunity Required

Western students born after December 31, 1956 are required to complete the Measles Immunity Report Form and provide proof of measles immunity with documentation of one of the following:

1.   Written documentation of two doses of measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine given
  1. after January 1, 1968,
  2. at least 30 days apart, and
  3. on or after 12 months of age
2.   Health Care Provider verification of two doses of MMR vaccine given.
3.   A copy of blood test results showing measles immunity
