Emergencies

The Student Health Center has CPR and AED (defibrillator) trained staff in the clinic for initial stabilization of any life threatening medical conditions during our open hours.  We do not respond to medical emergencies on campus -  911 should be notified immediately for the fastest response.

All unstable medical illness or injury will be transported via 911 by paramedic personnel to the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital emergency room for further treatment.

When the Student Health Center is closed, urgent and emergent medical problems are referred to St. Joseph Hospital emergency room for evaluation and treatment.

An after hours telephone nurse consultation service is available to students with medical concerns at no charge, backed up by one of our on-call physicians. To take advantage of this service just call 1-800-607-5501

For urgent/emergent mental health concerns after hours, call the on call counseling service through the WWU Counseling Center at 360-650-3164.
